Teaching
Teaching Approach
I am an experienced instructor with a strong record of teaching international relations and methods across diverse institutions and student levels. My experiences as a first-generation, formerly undocumented student exposed me to the challenges students face in higher education. These experiences have inspired three key principles in my teaching. First, I create a safe and respectful classroom environment where students take intellectual risks without fear of ridicule or backlash. Second, I demonstrate the importance of academic engagement by connecting theoretical concepts to events in the real world. Third, I encourage data-driven research designs to help students tackle problems with insight that extends beyond academia.
